Re: Above ground swimming pool - any suggestion

Looks OK, check out gonser.ch, they usually have good deals, and people are right about the filters, the ones that usually come with the pool are generally useless, budget 300 or so for a sand filter (landi has a good one I have been told). And do check with your Gemeinde about filling, we have restrictions at the moment, hopefully things will change. Good luck.

If a village has 1000 inhabitants and they each have a small pool (10m3) between, for this example, four inhabitants. (250 little pools).

If every one filled their pool on the same day, that's a 1443% increase in water consumption which is a massive amount.

Well Tom, I think your very scientific answer is extremely plausible, firstly that 250 houses in the same commune have pools and THEY ALL want to fill them on the same day. How realistic is that? So less of the BS please.

Obviously they wouldn't want to fill them on the same day but the total volume of water consumed in the village would be a lot more (a 50% increase in water consumption if those pools were filled in the space of a month).

And of course there isn't just one filling. They need constantly topping up due to evaporation and water loss in use.

I'm not against pools - we have one. I'm just arguing your logic.

Re: Above ground swimming pool - any suggestion

Iím pretty sure that our commune requires notification for filling up swimming pools but Iím not sure of the size limits and I canít find a link to it at the moment.
I do remember receiving a flyer from the commune about it.

Re: Above ground swimming pool - any suggestion

Wow a lot of replies - thanks.

We took some measurements this weekend and will actually go with a 3.6m (diameter) round pool. It fits better in our garden and actually also looks better in my opinion. Something more like this https://www.hornbach.ch/shop/Exit-Po...6/article.html

we'll check with the commune on any restrictions.

thanks also for the note on the sand filter. this is good info

thanks also for the link to gonser.ch I wasn't familiar with this site
