Termination of contract

Hi,

From my understanding, you can terminate your contract if you find a solvant person to takeover your lease. I presented a solvent person but now the agency is saying that "they have too many requests and the earliest that I can move out is June 30 or even later depending on when they process requests."

However, they had emailed me saying that if I send them the solvent person by May 31 then I can move out by June 15. What's the time limit usually? How's this work?

I know that Agencies normally have two weeks to approve or deny a candidate once they have all papers, add some days to send back and forth contracts and to schedule actual handovers.

No clue when this all started for you, but if it was very recently I'd take the May 31/June 15 offer.

That is what I wish to do but now they say the earliest is June 30, so they are taking back the June 15 offer. Can they do that?!

If it is a professional agency I would say "no they can't" and thus you'd be relieved from your duties and end paying the moment the other person would take-over.

However don't take my word as legal advice here, it's corona time, they announced the delay (still their problem should not become your problem), this would be a good moment to consult the renters organisation what would be your best move.
