Is there a way to view historic postings on Homegate?

As I use the homegate app and not email/browser, I don't have a record of properties that were in my search filter but for various reasons not suitable.

I am guessing the answer is 'no' but is there a way of seeing historic postings?

And yes there are good 'mieterverbund' based reasons for having this information!

If you want to know the prices in general, you can look at historic prices on Comparis. Don't know of any way to do it on Homegate.

there are firms who offer this, but you need to pay (lots) of money for that.
Look into MetaSys for example. Also you can ask them for the prices, but i doubt they will tell for free as well.

I asked the same question years ago when I was looking around.. no there's no equivalent of, say, Zoopla in Switzerland

It's such an obvious gap I've assumed that purchase price data isn't 'publically' available

Purchase price is always public (Registre de foncier and each purchase price gets published)

I don't know for other cantons, but I imagine it's the same

The real issue isn't price history but availability. The best deals are never reaching homegate and if you are picky about location/individual villa etc you might never find anything for a reasonable price. Most properties will be in the many millions and realistically the middle class doesn't stand a chance.

What help is it if you can see that the apartment that you are looking to buy fr 1.2M originally was bought 325'000 in 1997? The 1.2M price there will be at least 5 buyers if it is half decent place in city center so previous price absolutely makes no difference...

If the ad was deleted very recently, chances are you can still access it through Google's cache. It's no silver bullet, but has saved me a handful of times.

Comparis.ch has it but it is not easy to find the link, follow the link below and add your search details.

Obviously the more historic prices are less helpful.

Trends over the last few years could be though.

What these prices can tell you is the rate of inflation of house prices in a particular area compared with another area.

I've used this to my advantage twice when buying property in less desirable places but with the advantage over other places that the price inflation is greater.
When I've come to sell, I've made a tidy profit to put into the next property.
