Re: Koj -Get your apartment fully furnished by a professional designer

Do you generate your income from the rental, or from the design advice?

Would you offer advice on how to better furnish a place using only the furniture that's already there?

Re: Koj -Get your apartment fully furnished by a professional designer

2 rooms, 72 m2, for 1 year costs Fr. 420 to Fr. 780 per month.
5 rooms, 180 m2, for 1 year costs Fr. 840 to Fr. 1'560 per month.

The fees drop when the duration is longer.

I wonder who the likely customers would be. Perhaps more the "real estate professionals", than individual tenants.

Seems pretty expensive.

Even if you go for high end furniture it doesn't take long until you can buy it for that money.

My sister had a design consultant in to advise her on furnishing her house in the UK, but stopped talking to her when she realized she was only interested in selling stuff from her own suppliers and wouldn't consider other stuff even when it was much more suitable. She was often dishing up very lame excuses why that wouldn't work or why this or that item had to be replaced by something that for all intents and purposes was virtually identical. Nevertheless, this consultant always maintained she wasn't getting any cut and that her advice was compeltely neutral. In short, as a customer in a situatiuon like that, you feel they think you must be excessively stupid.

Hence my question whether they are making revenue off the rentals, in which case I wouldn't touch such a company with a bargepole, or whether they are selling design consultancy in a transparent way and at a transparent price. I think there are plenty of people out there (myself included) who wouldn't say no to some supplier-neutral and professional advice and wouldn't mind paying for it.

.
Can you share what excuses she used? Im curious to see how she dismissed stuff that were almost identical

I agree with you for wanting the advice though. I would be happy to pay for it but only if she doesnt push designer stuff

We generate our revenue from the rental. Therefore we cannot provide a design service for existing furniture, unfortunately.

You're absolutely right. The price drops considerably when one rents for a longer period. The same 5 room apartment for 6 years starts at 320CHF/month. That's because we can distribute the fixed costs like shipment, assembly, insurance over a longer timeframe. In any case, our customers always have a buy out option. So your monthly payments can go toward buyout and you’ll never pay more than retail on any item.
