Join Mieterverband to get a legal advice for upcoming apartments

Hello everyone,

I consider becoming a member of Mieterverband as I am currently searching for apartments. On the membership application form, the "Haushalt (Mietobjekt)" field has a remark that:"Die in der Mitgliedschaft eingeschlossene Rechtsschutzversicherung gilt für das Mietobjekt an dieser Adresse."

In this case, can I join Mieterverband to get a legal advice for my upcoming apartment or my ongoing rental contract drafts? For example, perhaps I receive a contract and would like someone to take a look. Or, perhaps I already signed a contract and moved in, only to find out that the new apartment has a major issue.

When is a right time to join Mieterverband? Which address do I put in the application form?

Thank you very much

I would never consider being a tenant in CH without being a member. Become one as soon as you have an address. Called Asloca in the French part.

It's not as if you have been a tenant in CH in the last 30 years, have you ever been a tenant in CH?

No... But the advice stands, for sure.
