AEAI fire insurance standard

Hi, has anyone any knowledge of the above standard ? We asked our Ramoner about installing a new fireplace over our ancient one, a modern insert. He said yes no prob I will need to control it after and let the commune know about the air intake pipe as it’s a change to the outside of your house.

Being stupidly honest we did just that. The commune have written back to ask the names and details of the AEAI certified person who will be overseeing the installation.

We had wanted to use a local tradesman we know as it’s not a technical job but he does not have this. We went to two fireplace shops who quoted us between 12000 and 15000 francs to do the install, not including the masonry work. I looked up one of the models that the quotes were offering and it’s 3000 Eur from germany. Of course they are trying to rob us blind because we are foreigners so they assume we are loaded.

I am searching for an enterprise that would allow me to supply the goods but oversee the work, does anyone know if such a trade exists (in Vaud or Fribourg or Valais) or is it a closed shop and you have to use one of the formal shops with associated frustration ?

Many thanks
