Re: How to buy furniture without a car?

Go to your nearest Ikea, order the articles you want and organize the delivery to your door, that will cost you, but renting a car cost as well, and if the boxes are a bit more (last time i bought huge at ikea, i got 33 boxes), you will need
another worker, to help unload the car.

If you are not in the mood for assemble the furniture, ikea can make it happen (Charges apply).
If you are doing it by yourself , i recommend a good cordless screwdriver , like a makita.

All of these ideas are sadly not available to me, as I'm managing this from outside Switzerland and will be quarantined when I come back.
That must be really annoying, having to go directly from the border, non-stop, to your apartment. No shopping on the way. And then stay indoors for a long time.

Does this mean that, from outside Switzerland, you've already managed to rent a flat or a room, but it is empty? If so, where will you be? Do you think you could get through the quarantine with just the basics, (let's say: mattrass on floor, table, chair, some storage boxes, basic kitchenware, towels)? And then, once you're allowed to go out, you could go shopping for what you'd actually like to buy?

Re: How to buy furniture without a car?

I came across this guy (with a van) http://jarcservices.ch/index.html the other day, on an Zurich expat group on Facebook.
It looks like he could help with everything from picking up keys, getting furniture, to installing lamps.

I have no experience with him myself.

OP, is your situation perhaps similar to the person's who started this other thread? If so, perhaps there's some advice for you there.
