Living in Cornavin Geneva

Hello,

Im new to this forum, having recently moved to Geneva. Im considering an apartment in Cornavin on Rue du Mont-Blanc, near the station.

The apartment is good, so just wanted to know if you had any views on the immediate area and whether youd recommend it / avoid it?

Thanks!

We stayed very near that area in an airbnb when we first moved to Geneva. Loudest place I've ever lived (and I lived in central london for 5 years). Lovely apartment though. Convenient.

Thanks both, this is on the pedestrianised bit so theres no immediate traffic nearby.

Are there any nice neighbourhood cafes, wine bars nearby or do you generally recommend crossing the bridge to the other bank?

You'll have Pquis nearby which gets quite lively, plenty of decent bars snd restaurants plus access to the lake in walking distance. Pquis is the old red light district and there's a certain amount of trade still going on if you look hard enough.
Behind the station is the Grottes quartier which is also well supplied with an interesting nightlife.

The other bank is perhaps slightly more upmarket....
