Often radiator noise comes from periodic slips on the suspension brackets as it expands; you can fix this by lubricating the point where they touch, best thing for this is a few wraps of plumbers PTFE tape.

I'll have a look and see if I can lubricate anything, although there isn't much pipe accessible I think
Perhaps the landlady is trying to start a band? And also taps on her radiator at 6am every day???? Let us hope it does indeed summon the plumber!

The heatin problem is common with old apartments and the costs of doing anything about it is unthinkabe for most small time property owners.
