How to remove this lamp cap placeholder from the ceiling?

Manual work isn’t my strength Silly question, how do you remove this plastic lamp socket cap from the ceiling? I have tried unscrewing it, pulling down but doesn’t come out and I am afraid to break something ... the little hole seems related to detaching it

Hmmm.... Have you tried twisting the entire thing counter-clockwise?

Which little hole? This thing on the side is where the cable of the lamp will come out from once you installed one. Am I stating the obvious? If so, sorry.

It seems to be a "Rosette mit Nute" and if so, it is either screwed on: Try to turn it anticlockwise just by hand while not pulling, it will be tedious depending of the size of your fingers as it's hard to get a grip on the sides..... or it could also be just pushed on a round-head screw. In that case you would have to slide something between it and the ceiling (best on two sides), then "click it off" by using leverage effect. Be careful not to ruin the paint around it though.

If you feel totally insecure about it, Migros Do-It and Coop Bau&Hobby sell them. Take your picture, ask one of the sales people there.

If it is this one, you also get a picture of the back of it :

It pushes onto a round headed screw so pulling it evenly downwards should work. If you break it in the process, it is cheap to replace.
