Weiningen any good?

Hi members, we relocated to Zurich a few months ago and are looking at properties to buy. We found something we like in the village of Weiningen (ZH) with nice streets, villagy feeling. We have 2 kids (6 and 3.5) and were wondering if anybody has a view on the school level? Also is it international (we are Canadian-Britanico-French family and spent last 10 years in London).

Thanks much for any views you could have.

Guillaume

Can't say much about Weiningen, but we used to live in Engstringen "next door" and it was quite noisy because of the departing airplanes. I got used to it and it didn't bother me though.

Re: Weiningen any good?

Thanks much. It is meant to be OK if we trust the ZRH noise map, but we'll check that out.

From a population point of view, would you say it is quite international or very swiss and with a trend to traditionalism?

Re: Weiningen any good?

That I cannot say. Never spent much time there, but it struck me as rather traditional.

And don't trust the 2020 noise map

Thanks. Me neither I don't trust thos map LOL
Maybe a controversial question, but would you say the overall population tend toward white collar or is more blue collar? I found the houses quite nice.

Re: Weiningen any good?

Rather on the wealthy side, I thought. It is a nice village and I know some "white collar" people who moved there, and I bet some of the local farmers got very rich from selling land.

But really, all of this is more gut feeling than knowledge.

Re: Weiningen any good?

Thanks much. In the village right now and have the feeling the trend is positive. Building well maintained, nice famer shop etc, so a nice villageay feel.

Thanks much for your view, even if this is gut feeling based, it is highly valuable.
