Land Registry Search

This is a summary:
I have Swiss Nationality
I now live in SE Asia
I own a condo in Zermatt.

I have let an Italian uncle (Italian Nationality) who has used it since 1992 for holidays and as a business address and who has been responsible for paying the utility bills and the mortgage payments (I purchased it with a 60% mortgage).

I now need to make sure that I still am the legal owner of the property and the mortgage is paid up.
Can some one tell me if it is possible to do a land registry search on line or who I need to write to to obtain the information please?

Re: Land Registry Search

The local Grundbuchamt will have that information. The internet says that this is in Brig for Zermat.

The mortgage is in your name. How can it be that you don't know if it is in default?

Does the bank know you live overseas? This isn't a problem if you are Swiss. Sounds like maybe you need to talk to your uncle.

Probably best not to ask (the OP) too many questions!

Sounds like you may have read some of my posts on here with regard to the untrustworthy Italian side of my family.
I wish I had been an orphan!
