Re: SARON mortgage

UBS Saron is 0.9%, for existing clients. They also have a ‘restricted’ (12 months notice) Saron art 0.80%

BielBlue has no particular reputation at present
Re: SARON mortgage

Was just offered 0.9 % Saron from Valiant.

UBS was quoting around 0.7% but I haven't received a concrete offer yet.

Re: SARON mortgage

If there is not much room for interests rates to go down anymore, and in the long term, interest rates are likely to go up rather than down, and the Saron cost just as much as a 10 year rate, what is the advantage of a Saron mortgage?

Short-term Flexibility?

So I was reading about the SARON setup at https://www.credit-suisse.com/ch/en/...-hypothek.html

Just curious what killed LIBOR. Was it the manipulation scandal?

That‘s part of it, but also a massive reduction in interbank lending (LIBOR - London InterBank Offer Rate) post 2008 crisis. That means that more frequently the panel submission was an expert opinion rather than an observation. I also don‘t believe that when the British Bankers Association created it they had any idea that it would end up underpinning the valuation of trillions of dollars of notional value of derivative contracts.

Flexibility. I went with SARON as I could repay any amount at any quarter end.
