| | Mouse infestation ..
Another question of who deals with it really...
We have a sort of outhouse/boiler room type thing that's joined to the main house and contains the boiler, pool pump and stuff like that.. Plus general storage..
Was in there today and thought the water tank was leaking.. I unzipped a little of the insulation and hey presto, behind the zip it is deep in mouse crap and pee, I mean probably a kilo of it in the little bit I opened .. (Tank is +2m tall, it's big)
When we moved in summer 2019 I reported holes in there with mouse crap around them.. Regie sent somebody who just put some expanding foam in. This is a whole new level though..
I'm guessing this is the landlords problem?

We had one mouse dead in the wall and the smell for one week, downstairs..
My husband bought such a device, more expensive than this, though: https://www.amazon.de/Ultrasonic-Rep...NsaWNrPXRydWU= | This user would like to thank Filmliebhaber for this useful post: | |

I bought a mouse trap and baited it with peanut butter. Highly effective. The cat was totally useless.

Mice hate the smell of peppermint (spiders too), so you could get some peppermint oil (many Apothekes sell it) and sprinkle some of that around. I mix some peppermint oil with water and spray it around our garden sitzplatz now and then to keep the mice and spiders away. It seems to help.

Problem is that the mice have been, obviously for a long time.. The place is now disgusting, literally dripping pee and inches of poop.
Its also damaging to the equipment and stinks.. I want somebody to come clean up the mess and prevent it happening again.

As you don't own, I think this is the landlord's problem. The equipment belongs to the landlord and mice can chew cables.
In addition to the clean up, the objective should be to prevent the mice from getting access, and finding cozy places to build a nest indoors.
Spray foam is good for sealing up holes and cracks. It seems mice don't enjoy it as much as other types of insulation.
I would not recommend the use of poison inside. Some exterminators suggest this. The problem is if a mouse has a fatal dose indoors, it might die and be hidden somewhere.
Hope your problem gets solved.

Sorry to hear that. We had the problem once and the landlord, or more precisely hauswart dealt partially with the problem. Their solution was to put poison around.
There's not a nice way to murder an animal. Poison kills them slowly and the body remains somewhere although dissolved... Trap is semi-nicer if you have the courage to kill it to prevent its suffering once it is caught, a nasty job
Some traps have an option of electrocution if you can find one...
Repellants can be an option as suggested above but do not work always. Mint was mentioned above. Some ultrasonic devices claim to do the job as well...
