| If I correctly understood OP, the issue here might be basically extortion by/through vitamin B eg that some permits won't be issued unless X does the work.
But, what exactly can happen if you bring someone from the outside? Vitamin B has its limits when met with lawyers if needed.
And I must admit, I'd rather pay the lawyers to put the law back in law than to bend over to vitamin B extortion, if I need a battle to choose, that would be the one. | |

oh, no, no, there are no Vitamins involved on the case.
For example, got a couple of architects, one saying - no Ethernit, building & renovations on it (building is) too old for it to have been used. The second architect said 'oh yes, full of it, probably here, here, here....'.
What to do? call a company to check for it.
Well, not one, but two companies came to check for Ethernit. The first one did not find anything (24 samples, no positives), so my OH called a second one

(24 samples, 2 positive).
Fake positive & fake negatives > 15% on this business. Who do you believe?
Difference is >>>15K additional cost to remove them (beyond and above the 10K for the checking, plus the costs for the architect opinion), plus 6 weeks of specialized works. So OH will do and bleed for doing everything by-the-book.
Maybe he is just TOO transparent, maybe I am too southern
