Re: kitchen consultation... and customer...service?

If a tradesman/ businessman spoke to my wife in such a demeaning way...regardless of any local connection...he would be welcome to shove his business up his A^%

Your hubby needs to inform him of the errors of his way!

Sick of the poor level of customer service here and no longer tolerate it....don't in my home country and I won't here either.

Well, let's say that we are not the most 'standard' couple. And...no, I don't need anybody to defend me ... as someone said on one of the comments, it has to be put into context. A sales man of a carpenter shop is not going to put me down with sexists comments, and if we decide to give this guy the business... he is going to sweat blood. Payment upon final OK will only be the first of my conditions... Most of men that behave like that is because they feel very insecure in front of a strong female. Animal behaviour at its best.

Finally it is SPRING!!!!!!!
I don't speak about defending, I was speaking about earning the right to work with us and get our money. One fast way of doing that is getting out of there or kicking someone out of my property.

I just don't tolerate assholes in my life and cut them out ASAP. And with full agreement with my SO eg we share the view.

I'm too old to spend my nerves and time on making someone "piss the blood" to earn my money eg to teach them how to do their job properly or how to behave like decent human beings. I'd rather just go with someone who knows how the proper job is done and then share a drink/dinner together when all is done

Sticking with local trades and businesses only makes sense when they can offer what you want with decent quality at the right price.

If I correctly understood OP, the issue here might be basically extortion by/through vitamin B eg that some permits won't be issued unless X does the work.

But, what exactly can happen if you bring someone from the outside? Vitamin B has its limits when met with lawyers if needed.

And I must admit, I'd rather pay the lawyers to put the law back in law than to bend over to vitamin B extortion, if I need a battle to choose, that would be the one.

oh, no, no, there are no Vitamins involved on the case.

For example, got a couple of architects, one saying - no Ethernit, building & renovations on it (building is) too old for it to have been used. The second architect said 'oh yes, full of it, probably here, here, here....'.

What to do? call a company to check for it.

Well, not one, but two companies came to check for Ethernit. The first one did not find anything (24 samples, no positives), so my OH called a second one (24 samples, 2 positive).

Fake positive & fake negatives > 15% on this business. Who do you believe?

Difference is >>>15K additional cost to remove them (beyond and above the 10K for the checking, plus the costs for the architect opinion), plus 6 weeks of specialized works. So OH will do and bleed for doing everything by-the-book.

Maybe he is just TOO transparent, maybe I am too southern
