| | choice of dishwasher detergent for my first dishwasher
Good morning.
I just moved in an apartment and for the first time in my life there is a dishwasher in it. It is a brand new V-Zug adorina 60.
I wish to have your recommendations of dishwasher detergents which could be bought from Migros or Coop preferably. As I have never used dishwasher in my life I have no clue. It would be perfect if you could provide the product link.
Thanks a lot!

Finish tablets work fine for me.

We use whatever is on 'special deal' and have not found much difference. V Zug does recommend the powder as opposed to the tabs, but I find the tabs more convenient and have had no issues

There's not much difference. If you live in an area of hard water then from time to time buy some dishwasher descaling product (or look for DIY versions with vinegar) and run it on a cycle to keep it clean and working fine.

I always stick with powder; if you keep the salt and rinse-aid levels as per spec there's no need whatsoever for tablets, even the basic ones, let alone the fancy all-in-one types. You're just paying (quite a lot) extra for the very slight convenience and double-dosing on those parts of the product.
Oh, and supermarket own-brand powder, at that, it's just as good as the premium branded stuff, IME.

Powder. And the own brand Migros stuff which is often at 50% off. Particularly if you have a water softener as the recommended dose is way too much. Experiment by filing to the smallest dose and add more if things aren’t getting cleaned properly.
The liquid you are supposed to use, IMHO, only serves to clean off the excess soap scum, caused by too much soap, including from tablets.

Isn't that what the salt is for?

I do neither.
Looking forward to when the OP discovers the washing machine ;-)

Buy the Migros or Coop store brands - they work as well as the premium brands' regular variants. I keep a box of Finish Quantum handy when there are a lot of fancy glasses and plates to wash after a party.
Tabs are easier than powder and I sometimes find powder leaving streaks

Because i don't like to breathe the powder, we use the cheapest migros/denner brand tablets, and we break them in half in the packet before using just half.
That advice was from the electrolux repair technician - he said most people use way too much powder.
Especially a new machine, should hardly need 'product' at all... | This user would like to thank swisspea for this useful post: | |

That advice was from the electrolux repair technician - he said most people use way too much powder. | | | | | Yes, I'm sure they do. Half full (of powder or liquid) is all I use unless I've got something really greasy like the deep fat fryer bowl to wash.
In one of our apartments I fitted a half-height dishwasher, which is actually less than half internally, but the powder dispenser is still the same size as a standard one. We use liquid there (bottle fits better in cupboard) but I'm sure our guests use a lot more than needed despite my instructions.
