| | Moving out services: How to reduce costs?
Hey everyone! I finally got a flat in Zurich and moving out of my apartment. I got several quotes from moving out companies that you can simply find by google, and it ranges from 700 to 1200. I was planning to spend 1000 for moving out, but I would like to save money on it So do you have any suggestions/ideas on how to save money on moving out costs? Thanks a lot!

1. Throw away what you don't really need.
2. Pack as much as you can yourself.
3. Offer mates some beers and pizza or whatever to have them help take smaller items.
4. Save your money for paying the cleaner. | The following 3 users would like to thank 3Wishes for this useful post: | |

I guess final apartment cleaning is charged fixed rate per rooms or/and m2 by companies and it doesn't matter if you clean it yourself prior or not.
Point of taking professional company is that they should take responsibility for the status and are responsible for handover to landlord - you simply pay and forget ( damages are not included )

Others charge a flat rate.* Of the latter, some but not all offer a guarantee that they will meet the landlord's standards for handover. - If your cleaner's rate includes this guarantee, it is a good idea to insist that one of the cleaners be at the handover, to do any last-minute additional cleaning required by the landlord.
- If your deal with the cleaner does not include such a guarantee, you are paying for a lesser product and, in that case, should have your own bucket and cloths with you, at the handover, just in case.
* and yet others say that it is a flat rate, but if things are really very dirty, they may try to charge extra, on top, and may even have such a clause in their contract.

If you're talking about removals, last time we moved we used Hiob to move large stuff we couldn't do ourselves. They sent three guys and a van. Much cheaper than using a specialised removal company.
