And Wiedikon, not too far from the lake and charming (plus lots of italian immigrants).
Get a cheap and cheerful starter flat and you can move later.

And also the Glattpark area, it's a bit cheaper and maybe not so charming but with tram 10 one can quickly reach Oerlikon. Part of it is still zone 110 (urban area for tickets).

Or just outside Zürich, with much lower taxes (Wallisellen, Dietlikon, Bassersdorf) and still very good connections to Zürich

Not sure it’s a good idea to get your hopes up too soon in regards to where you want to live.
As explained before, your B permit will be linked to the canton where your employer/representative is, thus you’ll be probabky starting out there and then ask permission to change canton,
First find out which canton it is.
Again, y’all please correct me if I’m wrong.

Anyway the canton will be Zurich, so I am only discussing towns around Zurich area

and even for less than 120k it was giving me different amount based on municipality.

This is good information to me as it means it makes no difference where in the Zurich Canton I decide to live?

I really would like to avoid moving to a cheap flat and moving again in 1 year time, especially because compared to London, I've noticed flat here are unfurnished, therefore we'll need to invest a consistent sum to buy furnitures, so I would prefer get a place I like right off the bat, and then get a better paying job later down the road to make sure it does not impact my finances excessively.

Then you'll definitely need more time, surely not a month. It takes a while getting to know the areas, and the prices, and the application procedures... plus actually waiting for the opportunities, and visiting... I've seen you have another thread about temporary accomodation, what you write there makes sense.
Still, be ready to compromise a bit
As a side note, I would not be too worried about furniture (or, not too much). Built-in items, like kitchen, fixed appliances and wall cupboards, are always part of a property; the rest can be moved or sold if needed.

If you can live anywhere than I would move to Scandinavia! Which has many similarities to Switzerland + your partner will feel at ease, get a job easily!! and you'll have two incomes and less stress.

Thanks everyone,
I guess that because of the withholding tax it doesn't really matter where I end up living around Zurich, so it will probably be a matter of finding a decently sized and priced house to start my new life |

Especially Denmark & Norway ...
