From looking at the latter part of their post, I think "require" was probably typed because they've read 1 of those really unhelpful websites about living in Switzerland, that indicate all buildings have strict, enforced rules about washing, noise, living space, shops, and so on.
I'd guess our poster has seen mention on such a website about there being strict rules about living space, which, like everything else on such sites, is sometimes true or sometimes enforced, but often not, or the reality is much more nuanced than the sites would have you believe.
Many posters come here having read those sites, taken them at face value, and been misinformed as a result.

| | Re: family of three requires how many room apartment | Quote: | | | | | That‘s just silly - the OP is Juist looking for a place for a family. There are many threads on this site that answer that question. We all had to go through finding an apartment, and I do not like the terminology „we require“, so I won‘t help. I had to unblock you in order to answer to this. | | | | | You're lying.
If you had seen my post, then I wasn't on your ignore list.

You know, there's one common denominator to these f*d up threads...

I guess I have just contributed and shared so much knowledge over the years.
Sometimes, I need info as well. And there are other posters that have provided these answers over the years - so I log-in.
And then I get deterred by seeing the senseless, completely uninformative posts that are the rule now. Sometimes I even contribute know-how, just because I‘ve been here for so long from the UK (since 1986), and it‘s hard not to.
Please block me - I will not contribute anymore. All for the newer contributors - who cares?

How many room apartment do we need to take as per regulations there? | | | | | It's quite embarrassing how this thread turned out.
I hope you managed to get at least a little bit of useful information out of peoples' replies and are able to ignore the rude and unhelpful ones.

Well. You are just stupid. | | | | | Given they let you drink and eat on an aeroplane I think it's socially acceptable to (quickly) do the same in the train / tram. Anyway I don't see Axa as being in any way a conspiracy theorist.
OP - i wouldn't go under 3 or c. 80 square metres as a minimum. We have a 3.5 room / 100 square metre apartment with one child and that's comfortable without being particularly large.

Geee, people, calm down! wow, that's a lot of aggressiveness for a Sunday!! Maybe full moon? maybe too many gin-tonics? Maybe not enough gyn-tonics? maybe someone needs hols?
The post made me laugh - i have been told at the immigration office also (very subtly) that my dwelling does not meet the expected standards... but, hey, it is my choice to live in a cowshed!
Now, to the OP - interestingly enough, the Swiss regulations apply to living space for animals (domestic & non-domestic) -- dogs, cats, sheep, pigs, rabbits, cows....) and even for their transport (man...do I want to be a cow when i take the bus to board at the airport....).
For humans, it is common sense - or cultural habits .
Welcome to Switzerland, by the way
Cheers
