Flat renovating and my rights

Hi all. Soon in my rented flat renovating works in toilet, kitchen will start. Basically I will not be able to use them for 3 months. I will be forced to go to toilet in a container outside down to my building and they will provide a plastic toilet bowl for the night needs. Imagine what a pleasure to go to take a shower outside with the November temperatures.

My question is: I am eligible to have reduction in the renting price or some other benefits?

Yes, you are. As are the others in your building. The owners will have set an amount aside to cover this and it's up to you to approach them. The fewer tenants do this the more they save.

Join your local tenants association (ASLOCA in french, not sure what they're called in the german part), let them deal with it for you.

Re: Flat renovating and my rights

I contacted them and I see they offer the service under a payment. Hopefully the payment will be less than the rent reduction
