Re: question about small lakehouses

On many lakes, and on Lake Neuchâtel, they are now (correction) threatened with destruction as they are in nature reserves. The owners have been trying to appeal, again and again, but have now finally lost.

As a family, we used to rent a small one, no mod cons, outside dry toilets, gas light and small gas stove, right on the water, with a pontoon, on the South shore at Portalban- 1 month, every Summer. Same kids, year after year- we went wild and had a ball- my brothers and I were each allowed to take one friend for 2 weeks, in turn. But they were never meant to be 'proper' houses- slowly showers and indoor toilets were added, proper kitchen, electricity, double glazing - etc- and all without any planning permission. Then a second row was added the other side of the access path, and prices went crazy.

Great memories- but I can understand why they have to go. So best check their legal status if interested.

I have a friend of a friend whose family owns one somewhere on the gold coast. They also own a private jet so you get an idea what it probably costs. It is a lovely thing to have though.

I know of one that may one day be for sale, but the owners are a group of heirs who do not quite see eye to eye. The price under discussion is in the eight figure range, and the first of those numbers is not a one.

The consortium of heirs has been arguing about the sale for so long now that they are into the second generation.

Not surprising - because TIS - they have a standing offer to beat any others by X%, should the heirs ever come to an agreement to sell.

Badehaus.

And if you have to ask the price and what they are, you can neither afford it, nor are you among the circle of those in line for ever getting one. ;)

It's a 15 year wait for a spot to keep your boat in some places on lake Zurich, now imagine the competition for the rare Badhüsli still left that haven't been replaced by some concrete investment object.

Oh... our new place didn't have view of the lake, so the owners gave us the use of theirs. Are these special?

Darn. He must be a forum reader. He just called and said no parties. And you only have use of it from January through March.

(and yes I was kidding… I could only imagine the costs of one of those considering the rarity)

The sport vacation two weeks this year was amazing weather- with clear views into the mountains - everyone else was off skiing (all experienced from my Zurich roof Terrasse) - so all this wonderful offer needs is a lovely Norwegen blanket on the chairs, or a Swiss army blanket together with the usual warm layers, or a Lammfell and that sounds wonderful - thank you!

Am sure that we’ll bring our own wine.

Will you send out invites to all, or how does that work ;)

(Also just kidding - welcome to EF BTW - didn’t yet have the chance!)
