Re: Is it worth going to Germany for big furniture shopping?

Getting the wow effect is not necessarily guaranteed by buying expensive design furniture. I have plenty of friends who bought cheap stuff (especially with kids around), yet their homes have the wow effect, and another whose house is fun of Pantone and Vitra, yet there is lack of fluidity - style and flair are not sold in shops . I can say, as I tried to buy some

Aircraft interiors are not really icons of style or design, at least not the present day ones. They're designed to do a job, but not much more than that. You don't see many people displaying a wow effect when they step into the economy part of the cabin.
Neither is Ikea. .. I understand what tom is saying

I think Tom's referring to the materials used to build aeroplanes, not to furnish them (although I may be wrong as I don't think paper/cardboard is used in modern aircraft construction). For obvious reasons, wings (in particular) have to be very lightweight and honeycomb and resin feature heavily.
