Light fittings- electrician reccomendation in Thalwil?

Hi all,

My husband and I are moving into our house in December (yay!) and have the keys to begin our move a week beforehand. Since I am currently minus work and all entailed obligations, I am trying to organise everything I can beforehand, such as furniture delivery and light fittings- so basically when we move into the house on Dec 1, its as ready to go as possible.

Neither of us are particularly DIY capable so we're thinking we need an electrician to wire up the 5 or 6 lights that the house will require.

Can anyone suggest a good electrician who will be able to help us, in Thalwil? Also, can you suggest what is a reasonable rate per hour to pay this person?

Thanks in advance!
I.

Re: Light fittings- electrician reccomendation in Thalwil?

these guys are probably the biggest electricians in Thalwil.

http://www.elektro-naef.ch/

but we're talking serious installations here.

Not sure if you have registered with the Gemeinde, but they do provide you with the local yellow pages and you can look in there. You could go there now and ask for a copy.

Sorry I can't help you more with that.

When we moved to our house I did the first lights with my father in law, and with that as my first experience, I did the rest myself. It is not that difficult at all, just need a drill, plugs, screwdrivers and a ladder, and also have to be very very careful to switch off the power while doing your work. We got our keys in the morning, and before it got dark I had installed the main lights in maybe 5-6 different areas.

Reviving this thread -- does anyone have a suggestion for an electrician in the Thalwil/Rüschlikon area to setup Swisscom connection and install light fittings?

It seems the company mentioned (Naef) do only large installations.

Cheers, keandro

My experience of handling this problem (4 different moves) is that the cheapest (by far) and easiest way (other than DIY) if you are visiting the area between now and your move date is to chat to a neighbour or two or at the bar in a local drinking hole and ask who the local electrician is who does this kind of work for the immediate neighbourhood. It will save you a lot of money and you will have a friendly electrician at hand for the rest of your 'stay' if you need one urgently.

Good Luck!
