I am only visiting Geneva for a few nights from London, just to help me decide as to whether I could move there. Does anyone have any recommendations for youth/budget hostels that are CLEAN in Geneva? I am sorry if this is in the wrong forum! PLease feel free to move, if it is....
I haven't been to the youth hostel in Geneva, but the ones I have stayed at were all fine in terms of cleanliness. Note that often you are not allowed to cook for yourself in Swiss Youth Hostels but can get an ok meal for relatively little money.
Duh! I am a Hostel International member and have stayed with them on numerous occasions whilst in North America, i cannot believe i forgot about them! Im so silly...I guess i identify them with the US. Thanks for the link, though!
If you do a search on Google they usually give really accurate info about prices. But I'd look at a good map of Geneva as they can claim to be very central when they aren't quite. Having said that- as the public transport is so good here, any place near a tram would be good. It would give you a good feel for what it's really like to live here and get around commuting etc., which is usually painless here. The distances are invariably shorter than you expect looking at a map!

Thanks for the info. I did do a few google searches, but I only found 2/3 hostels in the whole of Geneva and none of them had availability. I thought that maybe there might be some good hostels lying around, that dont have a web presence. The hostels do seem a bit more expensive then what I would pay in a US Hotel - they came up to be about 20-35ch a night in a dorm... i dont know if thats OK, or average for Geneva or not.
