Temporary Housing in Zurich

Hey Guys,

I'm moving from San Francisco to Zürich in Feb 23rd and I need to find a sublet or apartment to rent. I guess preferentially would be a sublet/room/cheap housing while I look for a Real apartment. I do not trust to rent without seeing the apartment so I'll have to wait until I get there.
Where should I look for it?
Thanks a lot!

Re: Temporary Housing in Zurich

Hi,

looking for an apartment I would recommend to search on www.homegate.ch . This is the best and most complete site for Switzerland. That's also what you can do already in advance. You can also use the help of relocation agents, who are linked well to landlords, for example www.sgierpartner.ch or www.bridgingculturesrelocation.com. This costs, however.
Depending on how long you intend to stay, it may be most convenient for you to rent your furniture. The fruniture rental company www.furniture-rental.ch offers very comfortable packages at resonable price. You also do not have to care about assembly and transport. Furnished apartments, however, appear to be very expensive, if you find them at all.

Hope this is of help

Re: Temporary Housing in Zurich

Hi there,

Do you want to temporarily share a flat with someone? My friend is looking for a flatmate and lives close to the lake and city in Zurich - the area is called Enge. You could live there while you look for something more permanent (get to know the city and suss out where you want to live) and it wouldn't be as expensive as renting a whole furnished flat as has been suggested. Let me know if you are interested and I'll give you her email address

Jo
