It looks like you have put round lamps in when spots are actually required.
Or, they may be too big or too hih wattage as Cannut says).
Normally there is a label on the holder (may be behind the lamp) which states both the maximum wattage, fitting style and shape of bulb required.
You may possibly need to replace the whole unit as there may be some wire insulation damage due to the excessive heat.
P.S. I think you really are making the right decision in getting an electrician to change your oven lamp for you. | This user would like to thank Tom1234 for this useful post: | |

You really should only put spot-lamp bulbs in spot-lamp holders.
One of the lamp bulbs (the nearest in the photo), is definitely wrong and will cause over-heating.

It is important that the wrong bulbs are changed for reflector type as soon as possible. Do not wait until the bulb needs changing. The heat damage to the fitting by then could be severe. Your old fitting was clearly damaged from looking at the original pictures.
It is best to get low energy bulbs if you can. These are available in bayonet or screw type fitting (picture).
Irrespective of the lighting situation, at least one smoke detector is essential for each floor in every house. If only one, it should be in the main hallway. It is better to use a heat detector in a kitchen as they will not be so prone to false alarms from cooking fumes. They are a little more expensive than smoke detectors but definitely worth the investment.

Yeap I installed the fixture just like that months ago in my friend's house (bloody heavy due to transformer inside). I would put in energy saving globes from e.g. Osram 11W or 14W instead of large e.g. 60W bulbs. There is a transformer built into the fixture's body so it is definitely step down for lower voltages.
Otherwise it all looks neat and bright
Enjoy studying here : http://www.osram.com/_global/pdf/Con...H_Brochure.pdf
