Deposit loans from the bank

Hi all,

Over here in DE, when you rent a flat you can go to your bank and ask for a bankbuergshaft. Basically it means that the bank will guarentee your deposit and all you have to lay out is about €30 a year (what mine costs me now).

When I first came to Germany, I got one the moment I opened my bank account. All I had to do was show my work contract.

Is there something similar over here in CH?

Yup.

http://www.swisscaution.ch/en

or via Zurich Connect insurance

AFAIK not all landlords are willing to accept a deposit paid in this way.
