Living in IKEA land, this may sound like a silly question but does anyone know of or can recommend a company that does furniture upholstery work? I have a piece of furniture that has too much sentimental value to let go. Thanks, Laifu

Have a look in the phonebook under "Polsterwerkstatt" or "polster atelier" and you can find one closest to you.

PS - Ikea land is actually Sweden...

Given rates of manual labor and material etc in CH, I can easily imagine it will be easier to buy a brand new chair, therefore I am looking for someone that any of you have had experience with and can really recommend.

There's an upholsterer in Zollikon: when you drive up the Seestrasse towards Meilen, take the ramp exiting at Zollikon (almost opposite Bahnhof Tiefenbrunnen). Follow the road until you get to the roundabout and head "uphill" towards Zollikon. The upholsterer is just by the roundabout on the left-hand side (behind all the flowerbeds....)

I used them years ago for reupholstering chair which belonged to my great-grandmother. They did a very good job, but it wasn't cheap (why doesn't that surprise you?)

I have someone coming next Friday to give me an estimate I'll let you know if they are reasonable. I've already had two and as the next ones have come highly recommended I'll have a feel for their prices.

They are in Fallanden ZH but collect.

Hi for a 3 seater 2 seater and chair I've been quoted 4.000 chf. The service is excellent and I have seen a lot of examples of work done on antique pieces. We are going with them.
