Killwangen - can anybody help??

We are relocating from the UK (Cheshire) to Switzerland and were wondering whether anybody on the forum had any experience or insight on Killwangen in Aargau.
We have seen a lovely house for rent and although we have checked out the Killwangen and the Aargau web-sites, we would like gather some other people's first hand experience of the town.

Thanks

It's very handy for IKEA.

Yes, I think that pretty much sums things up. No offense intended for anyone who lives there, though a member search here revealed that no one does live there, at least not according to their profile.

It certainly would not be a location I would recommend to a family moving here.

john&rebekah, I am with the others on this Killwangen is not where you want to be. Moving to a new country and a new city is such a major deal that you really need to get it right first time. If not you will end up in a place you dislike and have to pay rent for a year before you can get out and move somewhere else.

Have you thought about getting some professional help from a relocation consultant? If only to try and point you in the right direction with regards to communities where you might want to settle down and perhaps getting some assistance in finding somewhere appropriate.

Best of luck anyway.

So the main disadvantage is that it's out in the sticks?

Re: Killwangen - can anybody help??

It was a sincere question because I'm not familiar with the area and the opinions in the thread are clear. I've looked up the town on map.search and didn't notice any tumbleweed rolling throuth Killwangen. Also some people might be fine with living at a somewhat remote place (when it's not next to the motorway...)

and to show solidarity with Killwangen i'll see how hard it is to get there on public transport on sunday, and pay it a visit. (c;

Well, as anyone who has ever tried to get to the Killwanger IKEA on a Regenbogen pass has discovered to their frustration, it is one stop outside the ZVV transport area. Just one stop. How bloody annoying is that?

I mean, the ZVV even serve parts of Canton Congo!

But not Killwanger, apparently.
