student: living in winterthur

Dear englishforum, this is my first post.

I am going to be studying in Zurich Hochschule starting Feb 2010. I am looking for a studio apartment or a 1 bedroom, but I want to live in Winterthur. When should I begin looking for apartments in Winterthur? What is a good website? Is there student housing or dorms there?

Please let me know your experiences! Thank you so much.

Hi delgesu1986!

Try this site: http://www.flatrooms.com/home.cfm?land=CH&lang=EN
(click on that search-icon on the left hand side and choose the region)

Hope this helps

Welcome to EF! Have a look at this thread for some links:

http://www.englishforum.ch/adverts-h...partments.html

Also, consider applying directly at appartment societies in the area that offer this option. An internet search for "Baugenossenschaft Winterthur" should give you some links.

In building societies instead of a deposit you buy a share of the society when you move in and sell it to your successor when you move out. They're usually interested in long term renters but in the current market I guess you should use all options.

Hello - are you, or anyone you know, still looking for living quarters in Winterthur?
