| | Anyone know anything about Bulle?
I have to move and Bulle seems the nearest big town. Does anyone know anything about it? I'm not hopeful. |

If you're a farmer girl/boy, you'll fall in love with that place |

I have been there once and my impression was as a nice cozy town with its character. |

Not definitely not a farmer. Just hope it's got a couple of decent pubs and places to eat.

You will be OK for cheese and chocolate with Gruyeres and Cailler in Broc nearby.
There seem to be a reasonable number of bars and restaurants for a small town from what I remember. Info |

I went there once briefly with a friend, seems very nice. Not a huge town, but it seems to have a little bit of everything, including a few different clubs/bars as well as "globulle", the popular local nightclub. I didn't get to go there but it looked pretty cool |

Lausanne isn't too far away from Bulle. Is commuting from there an option for you?

I've been to Bulle a few times and have friends who bought a house there. The towns got quite a nice cozy setting. All the basics (few night spots, restaurants, clubs, shopping center, etc) are there. Also, pretty well located for day trips skiing and to the mountains.
That said, depends on what you want. If you are young and single, it might be a little tougher than if you are moving a family.

I've been through Bulle several times and occasionally stopped there briefly. I wouldn't say that it has much going for it except for being in a convenient location and has lots of services that the smaller communities around don't have. The nearby mountain regions are dotted with lots of nice towns and some great roads. Train and postbus connections to/from there are pretty good.
The main road through town is generally quite busy because it is a bottleneck in the local road network. However, a couple of km east of town there is a new roundabout, off of which there is obviously a new bypass being built that I assume will allow most of the transiting traffic to skip the town, but it may be several years before that is complete - I have no idea but I expect that everyone in Bulle is aware of the status of this project. On a Sunday afternoon in peak skiing or hiking season, the main road through town can be backed up for some distance - they obviously need this bypass now.

I am going to be on the other side of Bulle. Looks like I will just have to make the best of it and see how it goes.

Part of Glion (a hospitality management school) campus is in Bulle. The main school is in Montreux but students after their third semester move to the campus in Bulle. Therefore you will see a lot of international students from almost 80 different countries.
