How much notice to give on an apartment/room.

HI I have been searching the other threads, but cannot find anything that answers my question.
Basically I'm moving to Zurich tomorrow from Ireland (Ahhh!) and will be viewing a room in an apartment. I'll be sharing the apartment with another girl ( the same age as me)and her 4 year old. While that's fine, I do not feel that that is a good long term idea.
I am working with children, and do not want to come home to another child ( I know that's selfish, but I need some child-free time)
If I take the room, how much notice do I give if I find somewhere better?
The room is in Zwillikon, so location re;work is super.

Re: How much notice to give on an apartment/room.

How much time you have to give depends on the contract.

Normally in Switzerland, you have to give three months notice
when moving, but this is negotiable depending on contract
and parties.

Re: How much notice to give on an apartment/room.

For furnished single rooms the termination notice is one month in advance, normally.

The legal termination notice for furnished rooms is just 2 weeks, but more usual is 1 month, as Vijaya has said.
