eglisau

I would like to know if there are some people living/working in Eglisau and their opinion about the life over there, schools, kindergarten and the connection to city such as Zurich? we are thinking probably to buy a real estate in this region...

Re: eglisau

I know it's been a while... did you finally decide to acquire something in Eglisau?

Nice village on the shore of the Rhein, but real estate is nowadays sparse. Schools are good, especially in the center of the village. Kindergarten is not so good nearby the Huntwangen-Will train station.

Good train connection to Oerlikon and Zurich City Center. Be careful if you need to connect in Zurich, time adds up, and it is just too much (i.e. to Alstetten).

No more plane traffic since about one year. Lots of fog in the Valley. And the church bells are really a pain, so be careful with this when choosing your location.

Hope this can help somebody!

Cheers,

Zikko

Hi there,

On the other side of the river to the Church the bells are not a problem, I hear the schools are good as mentioned. Train connections are also good though if you plan on driving into the city it can be a pain in the mornings as many people from Germany and the quarry companies who use the main through road make it quite busy in the mornings, on the way back its also a pain at the end of the motorway through the woods, this is the case from around 4.45 through till about 6.15pm

Re: eglisau

Slowly does it. One post per year on the average ...

We are thinking of moving to Glattfelden.

Basic questions I have are:

Nearest hospital?

Nearest/ best Kinderarzt?

Nearest/ best Artz?

Largest church bell cluster?

Is that Co-Op all there is grocery wise?

Is there a bike route to Glattfelden station?
