Dents on wooden floor

After a get together at home, I noticed many dents on the wooden floor. Seems like nails underneath a lady's high heels were exposed that damaged the floor.
Can I get insurance cover for floor reparation?
If no, what are the remedies I could try on my own before I convince myself to pay hefty amount to the Housing agency!

Re: Dents on wooden floor

You can ask a handyman for polishing/grinding (schleifen) and sealing (versiegeln).

This is what we did with ours. The wood sometimes it's too soft, as such easily marks are created.

Google 'dents wood floor'. Depending on the nature and the finish of your floor, using a steam iron to expand the dents or buffing with steel wool may be possible.

Ever since I was unfairly charged for damage I did not do to an apartment that I barely used I have taken to taking before-and-after photographs. But you seem to be acknowledging the damage.

You can not get post-hoc insurance cover. I doubt most renter's insurance would cover this sort of claim anyway but nothing stops you from asking if you have such insurance already.

Re: Dents on wooden floor

I already tried electric iron on the dent through a dampened cloth. It doesn't seem to work too well. If I have to resort to grinding and polishing, can I try it myself and how?
Thanks for the replies

Re: Dents on wooden floor

I have a similar problem, and have a household liability insurance. Is the insurance likely to cover the expenses for repair ?
