Renter's rights when owner puts house for sale

Hello,
New to the forum...appears to be very helpful...I hope someone has an answer to my problem.
We are renting a home for three years. The contract is a renewing lease that will terminate upon cancellation by us within 3 months of the renewing period (August 1st 2006 original signing of the contract). We have been up front with the owners that we will be here for three years only. We were told that the house was available for rent when we signed the contract. Apparently...the owners wanted someone to pay the mortgage payments while it was on the market but failed to realize that their contract that they presented to us renewed automatically. Now....their realtor calls frequently to show the house. I find it to be a nuisance and an invasion of our privacy. Are we under any obligation to allow the house to be shown...and if the house sells do the new owners assume the contract/or do they have a legal right to kick us out?

Thanks

You are in a very strong position to protest against this kind of behaviour. Your best bet is to get in contact with your local mieteverband (sp) In actual fact you probably have more rights than the person owning the house. If you could find someone to interpret for you (sorry if i'm presuming you dont speak the language) i think the best way to go around it, is to sit down with your landlord and work it out. Not all landlords are verocious money makers, some have just inherited the house and really don't know what to do.

Thank you for your reply...
I have talked to the owner and he assured me that the house will only be shown to people who will wait the duration. However the realtor continues to bring people who are unaware of the contract. I will try and contact mieteverband. Thanks
