What are the best options for short term (3 months) housing in Zurich?

Hi everyone,

I'm a Canadian (don't speak much German, though I'm taking classes) who will be living (and working) in Zurich for 3 months this summer.

I've looked around and it seems I have two options:
1) Get a hotel or corporate housing for very high rates (minimum of 75 CHF/day).
2) Get a long-term lease and try to pass it on to someone else (I've been told there aren't many leases under 12 months)

This seems very wrong to me. Can someone recommend anything else? Student housing? A better way to get short term agreements, etc. Can I get a long-term lease and be sure that I can pass it on at the end?

Any input would be greatly appreciated

There is also wgzimmer.ch which is people looking for flatmates. Often you can find a room in an established residence for a couple of months, that is if you don't mind living with someone else. It is, however, a good way to easily meet people and then you won't have to bring much more than clothes with you.

We found the short term place to stay only today. I can not tell you how happy I am (even though the place is near airport) as I thought we'll end up under the bridge. Either there is no availability or too expensive. Try these, although almost all of them are from 2300 francs a month (for 2 people). Not all of them got back to us, and the ones who did didn't have anything available.

Very helpful links. Thank you (and, by all means, keep them coming ).

One thing that just came to mind. Would it be possible/cheaper to try to find dorm housing (at ETH for example)?

People say this one is good, but it was no use for me not knowing a word in German
