Browsing homegate for 10k/month properties and seeing what they're like (as one does) I came across this one. Central to Zurich, lake view, very grand building, newly done interior. I walked past it yesterday. Very cool

So, money no object, where in Zurich (building, street, location etc) would you like to live and why?

why ? because there is where I live 2 blocks away that one

if money was no object, i'd like somewhere near lake/mountains/green. and also a place near the hardbrucke area as a base for partying.

Well if money was no object, I'd fund my own space project and find a nice small un-inhabited planet to live on.

I was thinking the same: A penthouse in the Puls 5, Schiffbau or the street behind the cinema for nights out in the west end and a nice place on the coast for relaxing...

Right where I am but with a huge ass terrace and unrestricted view of the lake. No silly trees and partial views. *sniff*

That place is genius. Take an 1892 building and make the apartment space look like any other generic Swiss white n' light wood abode

I'd love to live in either of these buildings, assuming they are as original inside. One. Two.

It's on the Zollikerstrasse leading away from Kreuzplatz, situated near the Botanical Gardens, in a beautiful small park, oldy-worldy crazy kind of villa. Needs renovating but it would be AbFab (so to speak)

I would buy a house up on Uetliberg with a zip line connection directly to HB. Travelling to work with my milk tray would be a lot of fun; and only because the lady loves....

just had a look on homegate. there are some for 4500pcm. which although is a lot, doesn't seem so out of whack for zurich.

That lakeside villa occupied by "Mr. White" in Quantum of Solace - minus the MI6 agent shooting me in the leg and stuffing me in the trunk, of course.

The properties on my current list of dream houses are actually quite affordable...

... it's the helicopter that would be necessary for the daily commute down from the mountain top into Zürich city that keeps them in the dream, rather than possibility, category.

hahaha! that was exactly the question I answered this morning! I would leave exactly where I am today- a penthouse in a historical building in Luzern overlooking Kapellbrucke & the lake! I am soooo happy, I do not want to move!

Definitely atop Jules Verne.

Not sure I'd fancy a commute to where you work everyday though! I moved from London to avoid that kind of thing!

My gf and I were playing this game a couple of weeks ago and genuinely couldn't find somewhere which would make us move, even at the 10,000 a month level. As much as anything I think that's more about what's on offer on HG at the moment.

I'd be looking for a place with an unobstructed view of the lake either in Enge or Seefeld with a large terrace which gets the sun. If I was trying to be realistic and have something to aim for in this lifetime, I'd say 150sqm over 4.5 rooms with a cellar, garage and own washer/drier would do. If not, clearly the bigger the better and preferably a house.
