We are currently in the process of selling our house in UK. Our solicitor requires to see our original pasports, a second proof of who we are (say our permits) and marriage certificate. My original plan was to bring it all to the UK at the end of the week as I planned to go there on a business trip anyway. Now, because of all the travel chaos I am no longer going, which takes me to plan B.

They are OK by having a certified copy of the documents. My understanding is that this can be certified by a solicitor or qualified accountant here in Switzerland.

So my question is, are there any solicitors or accountants on the forum, working in central Zurich (close to Paradeplatz) or cental Zug who fancies doing this for a couple of bottles of good red (or a couple of rounds at the next Talacker event)?

JRSPET, have you used the Notariat services in Waedenswil before? Do you have any idea about costs? - Otherwise I will give them a buzz..

I suspect, it wiss still be cheaper to buy someone a couple of good red

Actually fairly reasonable. Looks like it will cost us around CHF 40 all in.

I got some documents of mine (both english and spanish) certified by the Mexican embassy.

I guess you can do the same( with ur embassy, or the mexican one... give yer money to Mexico )

I got copies of my original docs certified formally by my ( our ) Gemeinde for CHF5 a document when applying to a Swedish Uni., which was accepted without question. Ground Floor Stadtverwaltung Florhofstr. straight from the door. English friendly and they insist on them making the copies themselves off your originals.

I use Notaries nearby ( more expensive ) for fewer documents esp. passport, birth certificate etc. especially when the certified document needs a wider acceptance.

Gemeinde method: Enclosed files show the cost and the stamp in certifying that the original has been sighted and that this is a true copy.
