certified German translation

Hi Friends

I need some info about how to get a 'certified german translation' of a document. The Kanton Zürich has asked for this document. I was thinking
of getting the translation done by a colleague and then get it certified by a lawyer..Will it work?? reply..I need this info urgently.

Thanks
Dipan
