We have just moved from Vaud to Valais and had a good experience with a small removals / moving company. It is run by a youngish entrepreneurial guy by the name Joe, the company is called Speed Joe. They do removals over the whole of Europe but are based in Vevey.

I was initially a bit skeptical (Joe also has quite a few tattoos) and their truck wasn't the newest, but the quote was the cheapest of the 4-5 others we got. I got reminded again in life not to judge by appearances. He is very cheerful and speaks good English.

How much did they charge?

The charge was in total CHF960 @ CHF160 per hour. Our move was approx 30 km away.

The two other quotes we got was between CHF2700 and CHF2900. One of these arrived in a new Range Rover to do the quotation! I kinda knew that was going to be pricey.
