Are carpets covered in a cleaning contract? What do you consider "wear and tear"

Hello All,

I would like to ask for your feedback concerning the cleaning contracts for moving out of an apartment. My particular question is in relation to the cleaning of carpets and the contractual guarantee to come back and clean again if the landlord is not satisfied with the quality. In the contract that we have received (it looks to be a quite standard contract) they will agree to come and do the handover with the landlord and will clean anything that he wants done again with the exception of the carpets. It is stated in the contract that carpets are not guaranteed. Does this sound quite standard in your experience? If not can you refer me to a company in ZH that would also guarantee the carpets.

Additionally, we have been in our apartment for exactly five years on the move out date can you give me some feedback on your experience on what would be considered “wear and tear” and what would be excessive damage?

Thanks,
Surfpowder
