Short term accomodation (=long term hotel ?) in Zürich

Hello,

I'm a new MSc student at ETH and UZH.

Unfortunately, I can't find a room from abroad (i'm in France).
I need to move in around the 15th but I would like to avoid going there twice (one time for viewings, another one to actually move in).

So I thought about finding a temporary place to stay (<1 month ? to give me enough time to find something good for the rest of my study period).
Do you have any suggestions ?

Ideal room is in Zürich city, furnished and has internet access.

Thanks

Long term hotel will get expensive very fast.

You are probably looking at a sublet or room to share. Check the EF classifieds or search this forum for ideas.

Looking for a regular long term apartment takes typcially much more than one month to secure.

Hi Varioplus. Did you manage to find housing yet?

I feel your pain with trying to find housing from abroad as an incoming student... After weeks of trying, I just lucked out and managed to get a rental application accepted by an agency. (so apparently it is possible...)

Otherwise, this was my plan B - http://www.glandon-apartments.ch/en/zurich/stjakob.html
If you haven't found a room and depending on your budget you might considering enquiring. They're again on the pricey side, but were one of the more affordable short-term single studio dwellings I found (if you don't want a flatshare). Contracts are month-month. They were very helpful in getting back to me quickly and answering my questions.

Does your university have an housing office? These are often very useful in finding short-term accomodation and offer lists with the names of people that rent out rooms.

Maybe this is useful too? http://www.zuerich.com/de/page.cfm/h...dios/studios_x
Temporary studios & appartments for tourists. But probably cheaper than staying in a hotel.
