Moving Van Share - Zurich to UK

Hi,

I am moving to the UK (Oxford) from Zug/ Zurich without a lot of stuff and was wondering if someone would be interested in sharing transportation? There is a minimum of 3 metres cubed and I can fill about half of that.

Looking to move anytime from 1 Aug to 15 September if I can sync up with someone. Please PM me if you are interested.

Thanks!

Re: Moving Van Share - Zurich to UK

Hi,

Have you managed to get van hire in just one direction? If so, who did you arrange it with?
If not... I would be interested in doing the return journey (except from Southampton to Bern). Would this reduce your costs?
We are hoping to move around the 15 August.

Regards,
Andy

Hi Andy,

I am afraid they are coming from the UK but apparently loaded on the way up. The best quote I have had so far was with Charles Wood and Sons.

Hope that helps.

We've got a small van that needs to go back to the UK soon. It will be empty, let me know what sort of date you're thinking of. We can drop off in Oxford no problem.

Hello, do you still have a van to the Uk? I know your post was last year, but I am moving back to the Uk from Zurich and would like to share a van with someone as I do not have much to take. I am hoping to move between the 15th and end of March 2008.

I just drove over last week - doubt I'll be making the trip again before end April but it will probably be empty going that way.

Hi,
I am moving from london to Lugano around mid september.
If i book a man+van to take my stuff to Lugano, he can then come and collect yours on the way back and we can share the cost.
what do you think?

Re: Moving Van Share - Zurich to UK

Hi Sigrid,
I am moving a little later than that so i think the journey could be done the other way round. If you know someone in Zurich that can take your stuff to london, I can then book the return leg from London to Switzerland.
what do you think?
Francesca

Re: Moving Van Share - UK to Zurich

I'm moving from UK to Zurich & wonder anyone interested in sharing van or container if they are hiring one. Any suggestion for cheaper mode of shipping goods from UK to Zurich & do we need to pay any custom duty if its a transfer of residence on electronic goods or any household furniture?
Thanks . Shefali

Re: Moving Van Share - Zurich to UK

Hi, I would like to move end september as then we have to leave the flat. The removal companies here as more expensive than the UK based ones, so Im looking into a offers from UK based companies now.

Fransesca, regarding renting a van myself is not so easy form here as most rental car companies won't let you even drive a van to Uk - has something to do with the tunnel/boat leg between belgium/france and UK. So, if yu are moving around 3d week of SEP, hen you could come over with a van from UK maybe and I can drive it back.

Thanks
Sigrid
