Re: Living in Aarau

Hi!

Are there any updates on this topic? How do you like living in Aarau? What are the downsides? We are considering also moving to Aarau from Bern. And my biggest question: Was it difficult for foreigners to find the apartment? Thanks!

Where in AG? There are the more populous places (well connected, but not much privacy), and then the back and beyond places (a drive to anywhere, but more space).

They are asking about Aarau specifically, not the whole of Aargau.

Aarau old town is really nice. You can find some old apartment sometimes but I think it could be noisy because of the Aarau movida. :P
There are 3 new buildings near Aare close to Rombach where I live. Maybe you can find something there.
I've seen nice places in Zelgli.
Buchs, Suhr, Rohr are pretty close to Aarau and nice.
All of the above are 10min bike from the train station or center.
Don't expect a cheap rent except in Telly buildings or far.

Bus are not in sync with trains. Often especially in the evening or night you can wait 20min. But since everything is so close I can walk home. It's just annoying when you come back from a trip with luggages. I simply don't understand why they don't take care of night train-bus time schedule.

Re: Living in Aarau

Hi, I am living curruntly in the old city of Aarau. I moved here 4 years ago. Now I bought an new appartment very Close to the trainstation. I recommend living here because you are very flexible where to work, you are in 30-40min. in Zürich, Basel or Bern. If you want to enjoy the night life in Zürich you can because there is a night train every hour on the Weekends thw whole night. If you would like to know something more about the live here - feel free to ask
