Nothing took place that would give rise to litigation but I want to be prepared if and when the time comes. | | | | | Whilst employment issues are covered, there is unlikely to be much they will do. It's quite possible to terminate an employment contract by giving notice required under the contract, no special reason is required, so unless they don't pay your salary / notice, or give you a reference , there is little they can do. I believe the employment court is free of charge.

I would really prefer to have a legal insurance, as you never know...

Yes I'm thinking the same way.
I would also take an international cover just in case I need to exercise my rights in UK as well.

Just to be clear, the Legal Insurance will also take assessment of situation and decided if it is worth it. It is not that via Legal Insurance you have access to a free lawyer service to sue whoever you pls.
Personal Examples:
1) Cleanign lady employed via company scratched our whole kitchen surface. Cleaning company refused to pay (about 2000 CHF worth of damage) Legal insurance decided not to sue and reimburse us the damage
2) Landlord not repairing things
Letter from legal insurance got him moving
3) Problem with "mobbing"
Legal insurance explained in CH such stuff does not fly unless you are talking SERIOUS stuff (i.e. sexul harassement etc) A non friendly boss firing you will not warrant them representing you unless LEGAL rights were violated (i.e. notice period, work certificate etc)
Cheers,
K

Was this case related to employment law and did they have English speaking rep? Also what was the average monthly premium?
As you're in the legal profession do you know of any good employment lawyer that you could recommend? | | | | | I did the whole thing in German with them, so I am not sure if they have an English rep. As I have been insured for a long time I think the best thing is if you would get a quote here
Concerning the lawyer, I will pm you.
