Minimum period before insurance is valid

Hi,

does anyone know if there's a minumum period before the insurance is valid to cover any damage covered under the items which might get flagged when moving out.

My policy is up for renewall and im thinking of changing it to AXA however dont want to if it causes me a problem if we potentially move in 3 month time.

thanks,

By moving do you mean within CH and damage done during a move?

No just moving to another town and worried about my deposit on the apartment if I have to claim on anything.

Thanks

Generally it's a bad idea to change insurer except for a very foor reason, if when you move in 3 months there are some marks on the floor there will be a discussion about when the marks happened. Unless your German is very good & you have got a lot of time to waste I would not change at the moment.
If you are with an insurer claim free for a no of years they will give you the benefit of the doubt, if you make a claim within a few months they won't.
