[Accident Insurance UVG] inform insurance

Hi people from EF,

I have a doubt on how is working here in Switzerland and I would really appreciate your suggestions from experiences.

After a job contract is terminated the employee has to inform the medical insurance provider within one month.

Is it ok if done with email? is it mandatory? could you give me more information on what should I do once that a contract ends?

Really thanks

The employer can extend insurance to 6 months.

If you unemployed & registered with the RAV you are insured for accidents.

Email is probably not enough, you have to sign a contract,

Re: [Accident Insurance UVG] inform insurance

Hi fatmanfilms,
thanks for the prompt reply.

If I wouldn't like to have the UVG, should I need to inform my medical insurance or I can ignore it and automatically finish the UVG contract?

thanks

By law you should be insured somehow, if you think your covered you dont have to do anything. Adding it to your medical insurance is very cheap an any case.
