No. IVF is not covered by insurance. There are some test that are covered to find out where the problem could be. You'll have to read up on the insurance company website to see what exactly is covered.

Who are you insured with currently? If resident in Switzerland you have to be insured. If not, then the Swiss companies can't insure you.

I'm holding tourist visa here, my husband's employer refused to help me get the family visa.

Please don't take this the wrong way...

But it seems to me that you need to sort out your visa situation before you start any kind of medical treatment. Doesn't a tourist visa only last for 3 months?

Re: Any Insurance in Geneva cover IVF cost?

Yes, tourist visa only last 3 months, so I have to flight to somewhere every 3 months, I don't know how long I'm going to stay in Geneva, all will be depends on my husband's job, I'm close to 40s and I will get less and less chance to pregnant if I keep postpone it. I don't think my body have enough time for me to wait until I get settle in some place. I just want to get into treatment and procedure no matter where I'm.

It's probably easier to just get the same insurance your husband has. The basic insurance is the same everywhere.

huh? Not sure what you mean by you have to "flight somewhere every 3 months". If you stay for 3 months then you need to leave the whole of the schengan zone for 3 months before you can come back. Go to the commune and sort out your resident permit ASAP. Just because the company won't do it, doesn't mean you can't or don't have to do it yourself.

If you are legally married to your husband then yes. You can apply yourself under the family reunification system, which is probably why the employer wouldn't do it.

If you stay in Switzerland/Schengen 3 months then you must stay out 3 months before coming back in. If you are not doing this you risk being banned if you are caught!

This is useful, I might go to Cantonal Migration Offices when I come back to Geneva next month

Re: Any Insurance in Geneva cover IVF cost?

I have a friend who is swiss and has private insurance who went with- IVF to get pregnant.

It took two tries but this is not a resident issue. Insurance does not cover this in switzerland. It is aprx. 10,000 per try- from what I have heard.

Even from a swiss who is fully covered by the same company for years. Her husband had testicular cancer and this was their only option.
