can I cancel my health insurance in english ?

I wish to change my insurance plan.. but I have also changed my apartment in zurich ..(just change of another district in zurich)
I was wondering if I can just write them a simple letter in english mentioning my policy no and that I have a new address and also want to cancel my health insurance ?
Are such letters in english accepted.. or they must be in swiss official languages ?

should I first write a separate letter for change of address? .. I tried emailing them .. but no response

If you're canceling, why change the address? Just cancel and get new coverage with a new insurer.

You could add a bit to the bottom if you really want to. Or you could simply go to post.ch and pay a small amount to redirect your post.....

well I guess they will send a confirmation of cancellation and I guess I am also obliged to tell them..
want to be sure before taking the new one

but you are right about the postal redirect.. it is 50 fr for a year.. not much...

When you cancel your HEALTH insurance you send your letter in English or whatever, your exisiting insurer will reply (thus confirming reciept of your letter and cvonsequently a tacit acceptance) stating they accept the cancellation providing you show proof of a new policy.
