Arriving in Switzerland without a job - health insurance

Hi all,

Can't find any previous on this in the forum but I'm sure I'm not the first to have this question:

Does the 'insurance within three months of arrival' rule apply to EU nationals moving to Switzerland, regardless of whether he or she finds employment in those three months?

My partner will move here soon and I don't know whether we need to factor in monthly insurance premiums from the start, or only after he finds work.

If you are EU you don't need a permit for the first 3 months.

You should start insurance within 3 months of getting a permit.

Payment of which will/should be backdated to the day you arrived in Switzerland...

Yes! Otherwise they will find one for you that is very very expensive.
